Having my first number one single and being able to travel to places I’ve never been before has been amazing. The tour was also fantastic. There are so many things which I’ve experienced this year which I never even dreamed of.

When I go on Japanese Airlines, I really love it because I like Japanese food.

I have several dogs and several cats who aren’t really mine. In fact, they think that I am theirs. I’d like to have some goats and chickens, but I travel around too much.

My writing is a combination of three elements. The first is travel: not travel like a tourist, but travel as exploration. The second is reading literature on the subject. The third is reflection.

But as far as being an American and loving this country and getting a chance to travel across it every day and meeting people on the road and folks in the military, I love this country on so many different levels.

The trouble with travelling back later on is that you can never repeat the same experience.

I have no plans to have any other home than Moscow. However, I love to travel, and I’m very comfortable in New York. In many ways, it reminds me of Moscow in its energy and drive.

We take so many of our freedoms for granted nowadays – I can travel where I like, I can have a baby when I like, I can do any job I want – but I do think chivalry has been lost a little bit.

More than any other setting – more than battlefields or boardrooms or a spaceship headed for intergalactic travel – I’ll put my money on the family to provide an endless source of comedy, tragedy and intrigue.

People who don’t travel cannot have a global view, all they see is what’s in front of them. Those people cannot accept new things because all they know is where they live.
